GOLDDECOR - Luxury for your walls!
During past centuries, a room’s walls were a part of the furnishings. High baseboards, half-height paneling, and high paneling were important components of sophisticated interior design, especially in castles, villas, and manors.
High baseboards and paneling have more than one function: not only do they protect the lower half of a room’s walls, they also insulate the room from the inside during the winter months. Most paneling also serves a decorative purpose: generously ornamented, carved, and sometimes even painted, paneling remains to this day a feast for the beholder’s eyes.
Over the years, paneling was made shorter and shorter. During the second half of the last century, paneling was reduced to a barely-noticeable minimum.
Often, all that remains today is a small quarter round, that actually only serves to conceal the intersection of the floor and wall. As a result, baseboards are becoming a thing of the past.
GOLDDECOR high baseboards and wall panels: luxurious, stylish and in high quality handworkmanship
GOLDDECOR’s wooden baseboards and wall panels place decorative and design elements at the forefront once again: our specially-developed, three-part GOLDDECOR baseboards are composed of a generous upper profile, a supportive base profile, and the flexible finishing profile. This design allows for simple installation, even on troublesome walls in older buildings.
GOLDDECOR baseboards are available in three different heights: 20, 26, and 36 cm, allowing everyone to find the perfect fit. There is also the classic Old Berlin baseboard in a height of 15 cm, a smaller alternative.
If you would like higher paneling, you can take advantage of our quality GOLDDECOR wall paneling. Alternatively, a simpler wall paneling solution is to just affix a second upper border on the wall and paint everything in the same color, transforming the high baseboard into wall paneling.
We did extensive research on the mouldings of the last centuries. We went to the castles on the banks of the Loire River in France and to British nobles’ houses. Consultations with historians, restaurateurs, and carpenters as well as a lot of drafts and models showed us exactly how sophisticated high baseboards should look. And as much as we enjoy the beautiful, antique high baseboards, we also thought it was important to take modern requirements and techniques into consideration.
In an age where computer networks are everywhere, GOLDDECOR baseboards offer an elegant solution for offices, medical practices, and government buildings and are an ideal alternative to cable ducts made of artificial materials. Unsightly heating pipes can also be elegantly concealed. GOLDDECOR baseboards allow you to easily combine modern office functions with a classic ambience.
