How did you come to produce such high baseboards?
What material are GOLDDECOR baseboards made from?
Each moulding consists of three parts. For the upper and lower part of the moulding, we use yellow poplar (American poplar), which can be easily cut. For the middle part, we use MDF (medium density fibreboard), which also consists of wood, but does not warp because of its special method of production, which makes it very resistant to distortions and flexible at the same time.
Are other types of wood available?
Yes, other types of wood are available upon request. From maple to cedar, we happily process all types of wood for you, subject to an additional charge. However, we only recommend real wood for the middle part at low altitudes. Otherwise, there is a risk that the wood will warp, changing shape after installation. If you would like GOLDDECOR mouldings in alternative woods like cherry, oak, or walnut, please contact us for the corresponding prices. Please keep in mind that special requests can increase delivery time. All-wood mouldings are delivered unpainted.

Are GOLDDECOR baseboards delivered painted?
We deliver GOLDDECOR mouldings in standard white, ready for application of the prime coat by customers. The mouldings should be given a final coat after installation in order to conceal mitre joints and assembly areas, achieving a perfect, finished effect. This final step is quick and straightforward.
Are the baseboards only available in white?
GOLDDECOR baseboards are delivered in white, ready for application of the prime coat by customers (as mentioned in previous question). The color of the final coat after installation is, of course, your choice. Your color choice is unlimited.
How are the baseboards installed?
We provide special installation instructions for you which you receive with the delivery of the baseboards. We recommend hiring an expert (a carpenter) to get the best possible results. But with a so-called mitre saw (for the mitre joint cuts) and some handworking skills, it is possible for any ordinary craftsman to install GOLDDECOR baseboards.
My walls and floor are very bumpy and uneven. Is it still possible to install the baseboards?
GOLDDECOR baseboards are made for precisely this. We took special care in designing them so that the mouldings can make a perfect impression even in older buildings with uneven surfaces. If the floor is particularly uneven, corresponding areas can be filed down from the base of the mouldings. You always get a high-quality, flawless final product.

How are the baseboards delivered?
We work with a transport company that delivers your mouldings anywhere in Europe, generally within a maximum of three working days. If you provide us with your phone number, the driver can also coordinate the exact delivery times with you in advance. The transport company uses ground shipping. If you live in Berlin or the surrounding area, direct pick-up at our workshop can also be arranged.
How soon can you deliver?
After your order and the receipt of payment, we deliver within approx. seven work days. If you are under time pressure and we have the necessary inventory on hand, delivery can naturally be expedited.
Is it also possible to use GOLDDECOR baseboards as wall paneling?
Yes, there are three options for this:
We offer special wall panels available in heights of 60 cm, 75 cm and 95 cm.
The simple, English solution: you can also order the upper section of the GOLDDECOR moulding and also install it on the wall at the edge of the chair back -- that is, at about 60 cm in height. If you then paint everything in the same color, you will achieve a uniform overall impression that looks like wood wall paneling.
The double solution: another possibility is to order doubles of the GOLDDECOR mouldings and to install them one above the other. This allows you to achieve the appropriate height.

I have unsightly heating pipes on the wall. Is it possible to hide them with GOLDDECOR baseboards?
Of course - we have a special solution for this problem: with a spacer board behind the GOLDDECOR moulding and a cover panel above, you can conceal all heating pipes perfectly. All you have to do is let us know the maximum space between the pipes and the wall. We then produce the spacer board to your specifications. Intervals of three to nine or more inches are easy to accommodate.
Cable ducts: can computer cords and other cables also be hidden behind GOLDDECOR baseboards?
We also have a specially-tailored solution for this. A spacer board and a cover panel can be used to make a beautiful cable duct that doesn’t look like the usual plastic trough. Please note that only 26 cm and taller GOLDDECOR baseboards are suitable for this purpose. Outlets for computer and power cords can be installed in the middle of the moulding, allowing you to achieve a perfect and visually-pleasing cable duct for your office or workplace.
Is it possible to install GOLDDECOR baseboards in bathrooms?
Yes, it is technically possible. However, we don’t recommend it, because wood’s natural properties will cause it to react to damp air. We recommend using other materials that are less sensitive to moisture in bathrooms.
Can the baseboards be too high? Do they make rooms with low ceilings seem compressed?
We get this question most often in Germany. In our experience, the visual effect in rooms with low ceilings is, on the contrary, very positive. GOLDDECOR baseboards enhance any room, lending elegance and spaciousness. Ceiling height poses no problem. Our experience is that the higher the mouldings, the more attractive they appear. But that is, of course, a matter of taste.
Is it possible to get the baseboards in a smaller size?
The lowest height our baseboard styles Caroline, Jeanette, and Vanessa come in is 20 cm. We can take off an additional one or two centimetres for you, but we are unfortunately unable to offer mouldings of 10 or 12cm. One alternative is our Old Berlin-style moulding with a height of 15 cm.
Does your selection include Old Berlin mouldings?
Yes, we have a baseboard made after the Old Berlin style in our selection. At 15 cm, this solid-wood moulding is not quite as high as the other mouldings from our collection. Tastefully contoured, it gives every room an elegant, classic character. Because of its slightly lower height, it can be made from one piece.
Are baseboards available in other sizes as well?
Yes, in principle, any height is possible. We are happy to produce other heights at an additional charge, such as those for wall paneling. Please give us a call to make arrangements for this.
I have power outlets in my wall. Are GOLDDECOR baseboards still suitable?
In accordance with DIN standards, outlets are installed in the wall at a height of 30 cm, with the bottom edge of the plastic outlet cover starting at a height of about 27 cm. This makes a GOLDDECOR moulding with a height of 26 cm the perfect fit. Nonetheless, it’s best to measure in advance to make sure that the outlets were installed at the correct height according to standards.
How stable are the baseboards?
Our baseboards are installed in many households with young children, where they undergo every endurance and everyday-wear test conceived of by little boys with toy cars. In hotels, the baseboards are ideal for withstanding wear and tear from carts and luggage trolleys. GOLDDECOR baseboards are a high-quality product, made from natural, durable wood.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
Yes, we require a minimum order quantity of 14 metres (i.e. fiveGOLDDECOR mouldings). This is mainly for logistical reasons. If you would just like a sample, feel free to order our sample box.
Could I get samples of the GOLDDECOR baseboards?
We are happy to send you a sample box with four sample baseboards in four heights (15, 20, 26, and 36 cm), for a nominal charge of 40 euros (throughout the EU) and 50 euros for all other countries. If you place an order, the charge will naturally be deducted from the order price.
Why are the baseboards 2.8 metres long instead of 1 metre?
The boards from which we produce the mouldings are 2.8 metres long. The main advantage to the length is that the mouldings can be used without breaks on longer walls, and there is less scrap waste. This has the added benefit of protecting the environment.
How did you come to produce such high baseboards?
Such baseboards are best known in England and France. After an extensive seach during the renovation of an old building, we realised that the only options were made from artificial materials. For this reason, we gathered a team of interior decorators, furniture designers, and carpenters, and our experiments led to the development of GOLDDECOR mouldings.
